People’s Grocery has a 2 acre farm 35 minutes outside of Oakland in sunny Sunol, Ca. The People’s Grocery Farm is PEOPLE POWERED!

So you ask yourself what does people power mean in terms of farming? It means we can’t do it without you! Our farm is hand cultivated: we plant by hand, weed by hand, and harvest by hand. As with many small profits we are rich in human capital, you! The Urban AG Crew only has 6 hands (thats 3 of us), which is not enough. I was told last month by a volunteer that without a tractor, each acre needs 40hours of human labor each week to manage it. We can all do the math, that means we need you! Please join our efforts to bring about a change in the health and economy of West Oakland, by investing your PEOPLE POWER in the PG Farm. We are now accepting volunteers and applications for spring and summer paid and unpaid internships.
